What’s on

The LCCC holds several club meetings every year, and a membership is not required to attend. These meetings are an opportunity for club members and non-members alike to come and talk about past and future events, meet the club committee, chat about all things rallying and motorsport and how you can get started in our events. These meetings are normally held in the Yamba room at the Woden Tradies club on the second Monday of every month excluding January, but are occasionally held as special events at other locations. The normal start time for these meetings is 7:30pm. Details of upcoming meetings and events will be posted here.

Next club meeting: Monday 12th of June

Event dates:

  • Khanacross Series Round 1: Saturday 20th May – Murrumbateman    Postponed due to poor weather
  • GoKart  night: Monday 22nd May – Powerkart Raceway Fyshwick 7:30pm

Volunteer officials and new competitors are always welcome, you can email us at wheredoistart@lightcarclub.org or chat to us on our Facebook page for more information.

National Patios ACT Khanacross Series – 17 July event postponed

Hi everyone,
Well it can be said we’re not really getting much of a run with the weather at present. I chatted to Marty over the weekend and decided that this weekend’s khanacross won’t be running due to the ongoing wet conditions.
The farm itself holds up pretty well to the wet weather, however the access roads in turn very soft and we can’t risk damaging the these roads with too much traffic. Marty told me that his neighbour has already had issues getting bogged on the road in so we really have no option.
I really appreciate everyone’s patience as I know you’re all disappointed when events don’t run. No one is more frustrated than I am, but we’re doing the right thing by our landholders under the conditions.
I’m considering options for ensuring that those registered for the ACT Khanacross Series will still get value for money, as it’s unlikely we’ll get to rerun all three postponed events later in the year. I’ll advise you all once we make a decision.
Please remember that we’re running the interactive event at the Big Boys Toys Expo in August, and it would be great to have some of our regular khanacross competitors along to help out. The date of our scheduled August event will move to accommodate this and I will confirm once the new date is locked in.
If anyone has any queries please feel free to contact me.

** Postponed ** Round 2 of the National Patios ACT Khanacross Series (again!)

ACT Khana Series Logo

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately with the forecast for Sunday predicting a 95% chance of 35mm of rain, we have had to postpone Round 2 of the ACT Khanacross Series for a second time. http://www.bom.gov.au/act/forecasts/canberra.shtml 🙁

We appreciate your patience and are hoping we get back to a run of fine weather for the upcoming events. As we have now had two events postponed, I am looking for gaps in the calendar later in the year to rerun these events, so we will keep you informed.

I appreciate your understanding. Thanks again to those who had volunteered their time to help with the event, and to those who had submitted entries. Be sure to add our next event on the 17th of July to your calendars. We’ll be at Murrumbateman for the next round…
If anyone has any queries please feel free to contact me.

** Postponed ** Round 2 of the National Patios ACT Khanacross Series

ACT Khana Series Logo

Hi everyone,

It is with regret that I have to announce that we have postponed Round 2 of the ACT Khanacross Series scheduled for tomorrow.

The weather forecast is not favourable to say the least, with a 90% chance of 30-50mm of rain forecast for tomorrow: http://www.bom.gov.au/act/forecasts/canberra.shtml

The LCCC are permitted to run the events at the Murrumbateman venue on the condition that we don’t risk doing damage to the roads into the block in the event of wet weather, and therefore we have made a call early to minimise inconvenience to everyone.

I apologise and look forward to seeing you at the next round, which will become Round 2, at Gundaroo on the 19th of June. I plan to reschedule this round for later in the year if possible.

I would like to thank everyone who has assisted in getting the event organised, particularly Mat Boorman, Paul Dunn and Steve Hodgkin, for their efforts.

Look at this as a chance to make use of a free Sunday! I appreciate your understanding, particularly given the beautiful day outside today.

If anyone has any queries please feel free to contact me.
